Pursuant to the instructions of the Lebanese authorities, as of 29 March 2016, this Consulate will be renewing Lebanese blue passports on an exceptional basis for only one year, when one applies for a new passport at the same time.
The Lebanese competent authorities will not be cancelling blue passports with renewed validity at Lebanese border crossings. Only valid blue passports with added children or travel companions that were added abroad by Lebanese Embassies and Consulates may be cancelled depending on whether the added names are reflected in the records of the passport holder in Lebanon.
Apply for a new passport and renew the validity of the current blue one for one year:
At the Consular Section, complete a passport renewal application (select the link to get the form) and enclose the following:
· 4 recent passport photos 1.9x1.4 inch with full face and white background.
· Copy of your Lebanese id or ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years.
· Current blue passport and a copy of its first 6 pages.
· Parental consent form (select the link to get the form) for minors and applicants under 18 signed by both parents or legal guardians, at the Consular Section or authenticated by a notary public, affirming their consent to the application.
· New passport fees: $40.00 for 1 year validity and $200.00 for 5 years (only cash or money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
· Current passport renewal fees: $40.00 for 1 year (only cash or money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
If all requirements are met, the renewal of the current blue passport will be finished on the same day and the new passport will arrive from Lebanon in around 60 days, and will be only handed either in person at the consulate or via certified mail..
The Consulate can also provide a certificate affirming the validity of the extended passport to be presented at airports or other border crossings.
Via certified mail, if you can’t get to the Consulate, we can send you by regular mail a hard copy of the serial application form for new passports to be signed and finger printed in front of a notary public, in addition to a separate set of finger prints for the renewal of the validity of current blue passport, and then send them to us via certified mail along with:
· Signed and completed Consulate Passport renewal application (select the link to get the form).
· 4 recent passport photos 1.9x1.4 inch with full face and white background.
· Copy of your Lebanese id or ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years.
· Current blue passport and a copy of its first 6 pages.
· Parental consent form (select the link to get the form) for minors and applicants under 18 signed by both parents or legal guardians and authenticated by a notary public, affirming their consent to the application.
· New passport fees: $40.00 for 1 year validity and $200.00 for 5 years (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
· Current passport renewal fees: $40.00 for 1 year (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
· Certified self-addressed and stamped envelope for return (no return fees are accepted).
If all requirements are met, we will deliver immediately the renewed current blue passport and the new passport will arrive from Lebanon in around 60 days from the time we receive your request, and will be only handed either in person at the consulate or via certified mail.
The Consulate can also provide a certificate affirming the validity of the extended passport to be presented at airports or other border crossings.
Sign a pledge to issue a new passport in Lebanon within 2 months and renew the validity of the current blue one for one year:
At the Consular Section, complete and sign a passport renewal application (select the link to get the form) and a pledge from (select the link to get the form) and bring along:
· 4 recent passport photos 1.9x1.4 inch with full face and white background.
· Copy of your Lebanese id or ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years.
· Current blue passport and a copy of its first 6 pages.
· Parental consent form (select the link to get the form) for minors and applicants under 18 signed by both parents or legal guardians, at the Consular Section or authenticated by a notary public, affirming their consent to the application.
